Get To Know Us

Established in 2024, the Albanians of Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo was created to unite Albanian and Kosovar students from both campuses. Formed by a group of passionate students, our purpose is to celebrate our culture, empower youth, and create a welcoming community where everyone feels represented and connected. Led by thirteen dedicated executive members, we focus on promoting leadership, cultural pride, and collaboration through meaningful events, panels, and partnerships. What began as a small initiative has grown into a strong and active community that inspires unity, understanding, and belonging within both universities and beyond. We are a group driven by culture, pride, and purpose.

Shoqata ACCA

Our club proudly volunteered at Toronto's Independence Day celebration, supporting the event, engaging the community, and celebrating Albanian heritage together.

ASA YORK VALLE NIGHT

We join York's Valle Night, for Independent Day with University of Toronto to celebrate Albanian pride, youth empowerment, culture, and pride.

Womens Day

We proudly hosted a Women's Day panel featuring Albanian lawyers, doctors, and entrepreneurs, celebrating empowerment, success, and the strength of Albanian women, all proceeds donated to AMC.

Turkish & Albanian

We collaborated with the Turkish Student Association at Waterloo to host a vibrant event celebrating our shared cultures, unity and friendship.

AMC (Nonprofit Org)

Marigona, our president, visited Kosovo and met with the President of AMC to explore partnerships supporting Action for Mothers and Children.

ZANI ORG (Vjosa Osmani)

ZANI Organization invited Albanians of WLU and UW to a discussion with Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani on women's leadership, growth, and change.

4 Week Virtual Networking

Our four-week panel series empowered students through mentorship and insight from Albanian students, lawyers, doctors, and entrepreneurs.

Albanian Vs Serbia

Soccer Game

We collaborated with Chuck's Roadhouse, an Albanian-owned restaurant, hosting a lively event uniting families, youth and the community in celebration.

Toronto Kosovo Consulate

We met with the Consulate of Kosovo in Toronto to discuss future collaborations, strengthen connections, and support our shared community goals.

EngageWR Give Back

Albanians of WLU and UW partnered with EngageWR, donating over 70 warm meals and drinks to outdoor shelters.

ALBTV Interview

ALBTV interviewed our president Marigona and York co-president Gea about our accomplishments, goals, and efforts to connect the community and Albanian diaspora.

ALBTV Opening Gala

We were invited to ALBTV's opening gala to celebrate the launch of their first Albanian television channel in Canada. It was an incredible night honoring their team's hard work, vision, and a historic milestone for the Albanian community.
